13 Dec Engineering hiring success
When German-based automation equipment-maker Grohmann Engineering opened its first U.S. hub in Charlotte, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Technologies, Lothar Thommes reached out to Charlotte Works for help in staffing up.
“Lothar greased the skids for me when I was hired to grow the business here,” says Rick Blunk, key account manager. “I used Charlotte Works to fill field service engineering and sales assistant positions.”
Beth Lefevre, Charlotte Works’ special projects manager, helped Blunk revise the job descriptions to a more “Americanized” format, post the positions, recruit and screen candidates, schedule interviews and even craft candidate response letters.
“Charlotte Works is a tremendous resource for us,” says Blunk. “They’re willing to help you out in all aspects of hiring. My background is in engineering; I don’t have much experience in recruiting, so there was a significant amount of learning on my behalf and Charlotte Works was there to help me out.”
Blunk says Grohmann is ramping up to hire again and anticipates calling on Charlotte Works once more.
