iamSTEAMCLT is a one-day interactive event held annually for Charlotte-area middle school and high school students to learn about STEAM opportunities from businesses in the STEAM fields.

This event, targeting  in-school and out-of-school youth ages 16-24, offers exposure to educational and vocational opportunities in the STEAM fields. It’s a vibrant, high-energy hands-on event, designed to inform our community’s youth about how STEAM is a part of so many career paths in our area.

Companies participate because:

• Because there is a talent deficit in key STEAM fields (ex. advanced manufacturing, engineering, construction, etc.).
• To invest in our future workforce: help students make thoughtful decisions about potential career paths and tailor their educational goals at an earlier age
• To increase and diversify the STEAM talent pipeline for your long-term recruiting needs
• Each participating business is required to have work experience, internships, apprenticeships, and/or job opportunities and provide interactive activities or demonstrations to give youth a better understanding of their field. Additionally, mentoring organizations and area post-secondary colleges are on hand to provide one-on-one discussions regarding education and career pathways.
