Charlotte Works launches construction sector partnership

Through conversations with industry leaders, we recognize that the construction sector is rapidly changing. In response to ongoing challenges and opportunities within the industry, Charlotte Works is launching the Charlotte Region Construction Sector Partnership. Joining with industry titans including WB Moore and Turner Construction, as well as community leaders such as Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, the Charlotte Chamber and Central Piedmont Community College, the partnership will focus on pressing issues related to workforce, political climates, technological advancements and more.

As a convener and community leader in workforce development, we realize how vital Charlotte’s construction industry is to our region’s continued economic growth. More than 72,000 people work in construction across the Charlotte region, which makes it the 9th largest industry by employment. It’s also the 3rd fastest growing industry in the region.

Collaborating with sector partners supports our Careers4All initiative, which advocates for workforce system change and alignment. By increasing employer engagement and convening industry leaders with community partners, we’ll be that much closer to solutions that improve economic outcomes for all who work and live in Charlotte.
