02 May Board members, staff make Raleigh visits
On April 25, Charlotte Works board member Phil Paustian, director human resources product supply for Chiquita Brands, and Laura Morrow-Fox, AVP, workforce planning and strategy for Carolinas HealthCare System (representing board member Larry Wilson) traveled to North Carolina’s legislative complex in Raleigh to visit members of Mecklenburg County’s delegation.
They were joined by Craig Cole, vice president, employer engagement, and Sara Collins, communications manager.
Paustian and Morrow-Fox made the trip from Charlotte to visit with Senator Malcolm Graham and Representative Ruth Samuelson. They shared with the legislators how critical their relationships are with Charlotte Works and stressed the importance of the local connections between the workforce board and the business community.
Senator Graham and Representative Samuelson were generous with their time during a very busy legislative day. Both expressed interest in learning more about the work of Charlotte Works and appreciated Paustian’s and Morrow-Fox’s time and input.
Between visits, the Charlotte Works group also sat in on part of the North Carolina Association of Workforce Development Board’s meeting, which was taking place in the legislative building.
