Serving the Community at the Back to School Celebration and Shoe Distribution

NextGen students stepped up to support their community during the Back to School Community Celebration and Shoe Distribution, hosted in partnership with Revive Church and Samaritan’s Feet.

NextGen student volunteers took on hands-on responsibilities throughout the day, managing setup and breakdown, distributing shoes, and helping prepare for the foot washing ceremony.

Beyond supporting local families, the experience gave students a chance to build practical skills and make meaningful professional connections.

“One of my biggest takeaways from the Samaritan’s feet event was being able to give back to the community while also gaining real experience. I helped set up the event, worked with the owner of an Italian ice truck, and made some business connections that could help me in the future,” shared Tyquez McDonald, West Charlotte High School.
