The NCWorks Career Center in Mecklenburg County is open to the public, and also offers services virtually. The NCWorks Career Center is closed on the third Friday of every month. To schedule an appointment, visit ncworks.gov. The fastest and most efficient way to file a new claim for unemployment insurance benefits is to file online at des.nc.gov. If you’re temporarily out of work or working reduced hours due to COVID-19, please select one of those two separation reasons when filing your claim.
