CARE3 (Community Access to Resources that Engage, Empower and Employ) sites are resource centers located within our communities that provide free access to computers, high-speed Internet, résumé building, workshops, job opportunities and other resources for job-seekers. Our connection to the program is yet another resource we can provide to employers and community organizations—and it’s a resource that helps Charlotte close the skills gap, strengthening the region’s workforce in the process.
These collaborations with targeted community partners extend our resources to local neighborhoods so that barriers to employment are reduced or eliminated. We also connect CARE3 partners with each other to align a layer of resources within the community. Each site is equipped with computers, software and volunteers that offer clients convenient access to resources that grant these job-seekers a better path to employment.
There are now approximately 30 CARE3 sites in the Charlotte area, and they offer the following benefits:
- Partnership with Charlotte Works, which includes access to labor market information and employer connections
- Access to the NCWorks Online portal for employment and training opportunities
- Connection to NCWorks Career Centers’ services, which includes web-based workshops, job fairs and career-readiness assessments
- Client referrals to our youth and adult Workforce and Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs
