Master Trainer positions available

We’re seeking two part-time Master Trainers with experience in teaching curriculum and presenting material to diverse groups for a short-term, high impact project with the goal of better equipping job seekers with important soft skills needed in today’s workplace.

We’re taking the lead in implementing a statewide Working Smart curriculum to allow access to soft-skills training to an expanded number of job-seekers. The Master Trainer will perform a variety of operational and program management tasks to assist in implementing the Working Smart program both locally and statewide.

Job Duties include:

  • training other trainers to ensure that the Working Smart program is taught throughout the community;
  • preparing for each class by working with the Program Coordinator to prepare/order materials for each session and reviewing Working Smart course content, including any course updates;
  • conducting Working Smart classes in a live classroom environment, which includes starting on time, managing breaks and ending on time; and
  • administering all Working Smart tests according to requirements.

Training Expectations:

  • complete initial Working Smart certification training;
  • acquire experience in teaching the entire Working Smart curriculum, a minimum of two cycles; and
  • demonstrate experience in training and facilitation.

Job Requirements:

  • B.A. in business, psychology or a related field and two years of experience working with businesses and/or persons seeking career development services or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • three to five years’ experience in workshop design and facilitation;
  • a minimum of three years’ experience in teaching curriculum or presenting material to students is preferred. Prior involvement with Working Smart is strongly desired, including Working Smart class attendance as a student and/or trainer. Previous training experience is preferred, but not required;
  • good communication and interpersonal skills, is non-judgmental;
  • experience with group process and facilitation and comfort with teaching, leading group discussion and role play;
  • exhibit enthusiasm and the ability to work with diverse groups of people and build rapport with them;
  • openness to trying new approaches to situations;
  • ability to maintain fidelity to the program by presenting the curriculum according to the directions, training and materials provided;
  • is dependable, consistent and on time;
  • ability to use audiovisual equipment (TV/DVD, overhead projector); and
  • position requires access to a reliable car for extensive travel both locally and statewide.

Hiring Salary:

This position is part-time for $30/hour, $20K for the year. Position is short-term with funding approximately through one year.
