The Youth Business Connector (YBC) was developed by Charlotte Works as a collaboration among employers, schools and community organizations working together to build career education partnerships in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
Whether you’re a student seeking work-based learning opportunities, an employer seeking talented future employees or an educator seeking to give students valuable real-world work experience, the YBC is the place to make the connection.
Dedicate 12 to 15 hours a week to job-seekers as part of your community outreach programs. (Schedules are flexible and based on your operating hours.)
Provide a minimum of 100 square feet of heated/air-conditioned space with adequate insurance coverage, a high-speed Internet connection and electricity. (Charlotte Works will provide computers and software for job-seekers' use.)
Assist job-seekers with online job-searching, resume preparation and connections to community resources. (Charlotte Works will train volunteers and/or staff.)
With nearly 800,000 Dreamers across the country, 97 percent of them work and/or attend school. While we share moral concerns for Dreamers as American residents, their contributions to our workforce and overall economy have a significant impact.
The current Administration proposes to invest larger sums of dollars into infrastructure. However, we’ve seen that not enough American workers were trained and retooled for such infrastructure investment opportunities.
