Charlotte is well known for several industries including finance, manufacturing, and transportation. 
Have you ever wondered where these types of jobs in these fields are typically found in the Charlotte area?
As a part of Charlotte Works’ Careers4All initiative, we are focusing on the zip codes with the highest unemployment rates in Mecklenburg County. For a deeper understanding of what types of jobs are available in these areas, we created an interactive map that shows where jobs in each of our target industries are concentrated.
To browse the map, click on the occupation group-specific tabs at the top of the map. The bigger and darker color circles indicate a higher concentration of jobs in that zip code. For example, Computer/Information Technology (IT) occupations are found most heavily concentrated in zip code 28202, located uptown. Healthcare occupations are found most concentrated in zip code 28204, which is home to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Transportation-related jobs are found mostly in zip code 28208 where the airport is located.
