Our July workshops, including two new offerings, feature something for everyone, from job-seekers who are just beginning their searches to the long-term unemployed who are “stuck.”

Hooking the Screening Interviewer
Tuesday, July 22
2 p.m. — 4 p.m.
Your resume caught the attention of an employer. Now you must impress the screening interviewer. In this new workshop, we’ll discuss some of the most common questions candidates receive in the initial interview and how to win an in-person interview with the hiring manager. Topics will also include how to present yourself to the interviewer and best practices for following up after the interview.

Career Spotlight Series: Sherpa, LLC

Recruiters can be a powerfully ally in your job search. However, there are several things to know before you agree to work with a recruiter. Sherpa, LLC, a local firm specializing in staffing, recruiting and consulting services, will explain the role of a recruiter when working with a job seeker and why a recruiter can sometimes give a candidate the edge in finding a job.

How to Live Purposefully

The barriers that prevent you from landing a job are often self-induced. This workshop features the Playbook for Purposeful Living©, a framework for enjoying a life of purpose and achievement. We’ll help you identify self-defeating patterns of thinking and explain how increased self-awareness can help you achieve success in your professional and personal life.

Elevator Speech 101

The first words out of your mouth set the tone for the conversation. In this interactive workshop, we’ll help you develop the perfect speech to make a lasting impression while quickly explaining to others what you can offer a prospective employer.

LinkedIn on Training Wheels
Wednesday, July 30
5:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m.
In our workshop designed for beginners, we’ll empower you to build your profile on this popular online network. We’ll also show you how you use LinkedIn to grow your professional network, find experts in your profession and search for jobs.

Preparing for the Job Search
Thursday, July 31
10 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.
Losing your job is often overwhelming and stressful. This new workshop is designed to help you cope with your loss, regroup and figure out the next steps. We’ll help you avoid the common pitfalls on your resume and application and in your job interview that can prevent you from getting a new job.

5. Click on FILTER
6. Choose your desired event and click on it. Confirm date & time and click on REGISTER at bottom of page
