Charlotte Works’ 20 Year

Programs / Partnerships Initiated

  • CARE 3, the SNAP Workforce development collaborative, launched in 2012
  • Youth Business Connector launched in 2014
  • Working Smart, a soft skills curriculum, launched in 2015 in partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Workforce Development Providers Council
  • Youth pre-apprenticeship program developed and launched in partnership with CATS in 2015
  • Working Smart expands to all NC Community Colleges in 2016
  • First certified career pathways in Health Care and Manufacturing in 2016
  • Talent Pipeline partnership with Atrium Health in 2017

Workforce Results (Since 2007)

  • 6560 jobseekers have received training scholarships or on-the-job training services
  • 1,438,000 services have been provided to jobseekers
  • 4250 youth enrolled, gaining access to career development services including internships, college tours, career pathway planning and more
  • 7300 employers have received services including job fair assistance, access to NCWorks’ online talent pool, on-the-job training grants, and more

Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Metrics (Since 2016)

  • 14,260 jobseekers obtained employment
  • 507 jobseekers earned industry-recognized credentials
  • $466.4 million earned in salaries
